CARD GAMES

There is an amateur croupier in all of us.

Playing cards are said to have originated in the Far East - in India and China - and were possibly brought to Europe by the Arabs or the Crusaders. Mus, poker, seven and a half, mona, botifarra, baccarat, blackjack and remigio are some of the games played throughout the world.

In this section, the deck of cards with images of sweets and confectionery designed by the humourist, cartoonist and poster artist Jacint Bofarull stands out, as does the deck decorated with the legends of 1920s silent film, such as Charlie Chaplin (Charlot) or Harold Lloyd.
