BEARS AND TEDDY BEARS

Teddy bears are probably the most iconic and well-loved toys among the majority of children. The modern version of this toy first appeared in Germany in the early 20th century thanks to the manufacturer Margarete Steiff, who made handcrafted animal plush toys and exported them all over the world. She designed her first bear in 1902, and they were being distributed throughout Europe and the United States just a few short years later. The company she founded opened the Steiff Museum dedicated to teddy bears in 1980. The Steiff factory, which opened in 1880 and specialised in the manufacture of high-quality toys, is still doing business today.

One of the most popular bears is the fictional character Winnie-the-Pooh. The teddy bear with the bandaged arm is the highlight of this section
